Wood Worker – Saw Cutter Machine Operator
Pay: $21/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–5:30 PM (current extended hours due to workload)
Experience: Minimum 2 years
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Wood Worker / Saw Cutter Machine Operator to join our millwork team. This position operates a saw cutting machine (not a hand saw) to cut wood components with precision and accuracy. The ideal candidate has strong carpentry or cabinetry experience, the ability to perform basic programming, and excellent measurement and math skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a saw cutter machine to cut wood materials according to production specifications
- Perform basic machine programming and adjustments as needed
- Read and interpret tape measurements, shop drawings, and conversion tables
- Maintain accuracy in cuts and measurements to ensure quality standards
- Safely handle and move lumber/materials
- Perform daily equipment checks, cleaning, and routine maintenance
- Stand for long periods while operating machinery
- Assist with general millwork tasks as required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in millwork, carpentry, or woodworking
- Cabinetry experience is required
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Strong ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Basic math skills, including reading conversion tables
- Comfort with basic programming functions for machine operation
