Welder / Fabricator (Custom Metal Fabrication Shop)

Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator to join a fast-paced, custom fabrication shop. This is not a repetitive production role—our team handles a variety of projects requiring strong welding skills, blueprint reading, and hands-on fabrication experience.

If you take pride in your craftsmanship and can adapt to different jobs, materials, and setups, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding (primary) with occasional TIG and/or Flux-Cored welding as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
  • Fit, assemble, and tack parts prior to welding
  • Work on custom, one-off, and short-run fabrication projects
  • Inspect finished welds to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Use fabrication tools such as grinders, torches, and measuring equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of welding/fabrication experience in a shop environment
  • Strong MIG welding skills (TIG experience a plus)
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints independently
  • Experience fitting and fabricating parts (not just welding pre-fit pieces)
  • Comfortable working with carbon steel; stainless and aluminum experience a plus
  • Ability to work on varying projects (non-production environment)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred Skills

  • Multi-process welding experience (MIG/TIG/Flux-Core)
  • Experience with custom fabrication or job shop work
  • Grinding, torch cutting, and finishing skills
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment (press brake, rollers, etc.)

Work Environment

  • Shop-based position (no field work)
  • Fast-paced, high-mix fabrication environment
  • Projects vary regularly—no repetitive assembly-line work

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Overtime may be available based on workload

PPE Requirements

  • Steel-toe boots required
  • Welding hood, gloves, and appropriate attire required
  • Additional PPE may be provided on-site

Why This Role?

  • Opportunity to use full fabrication skillset
  • Work with an experienced team on diverse projects
