Job Overview
We are seeking a Machine Operator (Level 1) to join our production team in a fast-paced steel fabrication environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and interest in manufacturing operations.
The Machine Operator will be responsible for safely operating equipment, assisting with fabrication processes, and supporting overall production goals while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
What You’ll Do
- Operate manufacturing machinery in accordance with safety and production standards
- Assist with steel fabrication, welding preparation, and general production tasks
- Load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished products
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Inspect finished products to ensure specifications are met
- Accurately use measuring tools such as tape measures, angle finders, and micrometers
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Support additional tasks and projects as needed
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing, steel production, construction, or industrial work (preferred)
- Basic mechanical skills and ability to operate hand and power tools
- Experience with forklifts and overhead cranes is a plus
- Ability to read measurements, decimals, and perform basic math calculations
- Experience using precision measuring tools (required)
- Basic computer or 10-key skills (a plus)
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with varying temperatures
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other equipment
- Comfortable working around noise, dust, and moving machinery
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
