Scope of Responsibilities:
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes and sets controls to regulate factors such as speed, feed, depth, and angle of cut according to established guidelines and procedures.
- Properly position and secure workpieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures
- Set specified tools and depth of cut in accordance with material specifications and tooling guidelines.
- Starts and observes machine operation for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
- Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications using measuring and inspection tools for close tolerances ( +/- .002″ ).
- Performs routine maintenance tasks on machines as required to ensure functionality.
- Properly install, calibrate, and test machine tooling.
- Monitor tools for wear and inspect components before working on them for correct specifications.
- Interface directly with departments to deliver an estimate of completion and tooling requirements of individual machined projects.
- Capacity to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and urgency.
- Interpret complex drawings, apply knowledge to solutions, and incorporate changes when deemed necessary.
- Effectively interface with drawing viewers and dedicated machine controls.
- Assist with other metal or composite parts and fixture fabrication work as needed, including cutting, jigging, etc.
- Perform any other task asked by the supervisor.

Educational & Work Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Familiarity with the capabilities/limitations of conventional/CNC machine controls
