Job Title: Recycling Collection Operator
Pay $14.00 per hour
Job Summary:
The Recycling Collection Operator is responsible for the collection and transportation of recyclable materials from designated blue bins to rear loading trucks. This role involves operating various types of trucks, ensuring safe and efficient collection, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collection and Transportation: Empty blue recycle bins into rear loading trucks and transport materials to recycling facilities.
- Operation of Equipment: Safely operate rear loading trucks and other necessary equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Customer Interaction: Provide professional and courteous service to customers, addressing any concerns or questions.
- Documentation: Complete daily logs and reports on collection activities and truck inspections.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in waste collection or a similar field is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and perform prolonged physical exertion.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Other Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
- Physical demands including sitting, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and lifting.
- Potential exposure to high traffic conditions and tight driving areas.
