OnTrack Staffing has partnered with our client in on their search for a CNC Operator.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the operation of machinery and/or mechanical equipment by properly installing, calibrating, and testing machine tooling for safety and conformance to drawings.
- Inspect components before working on them for correct specifications.
- Verifies conformance of finished components to specifications using measuring and inspection tools.
- Interpret complex drawings, apply knowledge to solutions, and incorporate changes when deemed necessary.
- Provide accurate reporting of safety, production, efficiency, quality, and potential problem areas to operate the department efficiently and productively.
- Effectively interface with internal software such as ERP, drawing viewers, and dedicated machine controls.
- Understand and determine the sequence of operations by studying work orders and drawing specifications.
- Take ownership of training to ensure equipment is operated safely and to continuously learn and build capability and skill.
- Provide backup as needed to fill vacancies within the dept.
- Perform any other task asked by a supervisor.
Skills Needed:
- Position Qualifications:
- Mechanically inclined (Possess the ability to use basic hand tools)
- Ability to read blueprints and measuring devices (metric and standard dimensions).
- Strong math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent organizational, teaming, and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to identify and resolve issues to improve performance.
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
- Must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs.
- MUST have reliable transportation.
Educational & Work Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Manufacturing or machine shop experience and mechanical aptitude
