Description:  We are seeking a Yard Coordinator to become a part of our team! You will be responsible for overseeing training and daily operations of employees in the yard. Position is located in Brunswick, GA. Contact Shann Rishell 912-215-7333 Shann.Rishell@otstaffing.com POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the execution of daily van and OnTrack employee movement within IAP Yards. You will foster a "safety first" culture through awareness, training, and accountability. With safety being OnTrack and IAP’s number one priority, you will work diligently with employees to ensure they are following all safety expectations and maintaining a safe work environment for all drivers that enter IAP’s yard, identifying any unsafe acts and working to immediately address them. You will work to ensure the OnTrack management is updated to reflect the current status of all drivers in the yard. You will also ensure all new employees are trained according to the current best practices. You will be expected to communicate effectively with OnTrack management regarding employee needs, movement, and progress. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Communicate to leadership Consistently be visible Train all employees in the following: Observe all safety precautions driving vehicles. Must have a spotter when backing up vehicles. Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Drive vehicles to designated point as instructed in accordance with vehicle handling procedures and safety rules. Park vehicles in approved manor insuring proper spacing between vehicles Return to the van without delay to be transported to next location. Observe all safety precautions and speed limits. When driving vehicles to load line, verify load line number and park vehicle in correct lane. Place work orders and/or other inserts in the vehicles as instructed In accordance with policies and procedures, obey all safety procedures (i.e., accident reporting), hazardous communications standards and vehicle handling procedures. Must have a spotter when backing up vehicles. Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety. Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Must be DRUG FREE. High school diploma or GED. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge). Must provide a 3-year Department of Motor Vehicle Report (DMV) with no more than 2 moving violations, no DUI convictions and no Reckless Driving. Ability to read and write. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and communicate clear and concise instructions to employees. Ability to drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS continued: Must be able to communicate effectively. Ability to function within working conditions and physical requirements as described above. Ability to work assigned hours. Including overtime and weekends as needed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to repeatedly get in and out of a vehicle. Must be able to step up approximately 18 inches into an open van and must be able to endure long periods of standing and walking. Must be able to work in tight spaces and congested quarters. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in open production shop environment with no air conditioning and minimal heating. Moderate noise level.
