Temporary Accountant (Municipal Accounting)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $24.00 – $34.00 per hour, depending on experience
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant for a temporary assignment lasting approximately three months. This role will support accounting operations and requires experience with municipal accounting, strong analytical skills, and a high level of Excel proficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced accounting functions in compliance with municipal and governmental regulations
- Analyze large quantities of financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
- Prepare, review, and reconcile financial reports and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and governing requirements
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to organize, analyze, and present financial data
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of advanced accounting concepts, techniques, and principles
- Knowledge of municipal accounting regulations and governing standards
- Proven ability to analyze large volumes of financial data
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis tools)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
