R&D / Valve Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined R&D / Valve Technician to support testing, development, and improvement of valve products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, machining, and contributing to engineering and product development efforts. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams while participating in data analysis, testing, and technical problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing, data recording, and performance analysis for new and existing product lines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues on the production floor alongside Engineering and Quality teams.
- Read, interpret, and update engineering drawings and technical instructions.
- Machine parts using turning, boring, threading, drilling, and milling processes; modify or repair parts as needed.
- Inspect machined parts using precise measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Assist in training team members on new product development procedures.
- Follow all quality procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
- Work safely in a loud environment where PPE, including hearing and eye protection, is required.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with relief valves, control valves, regulators, or similar mechanical valve systems.
- Ability to document results clearly and compute technical measurements accurately.
- Comfortable working in environments involving noise, metal chips, machining equipment, overhead work, and flying objects—PPE is required.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to take direction in a team-focused engineering group.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree preferred, OR two years of relevant technical experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with MRP/ERP systems is a plus.
