Our team is responsible for supporting shop floor production, fulfilling spare parts orders, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring efficient storage and movement of materials, tools, and equipment.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of material handling duties, including loading, unloading, storing, issuing, and delivering materials, tools, and equipment. You will play a critical role in supporting shop floor production and maintaining accurate inventory reports.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Supporting shop floor production and performing duties required to load/unload, store, issue, and deliver materials, tools, and equipment.
- Collecting materials, tools, and drawings required for production
- Kitting and staging materials for jobs (use of Excel and ERP)
- Operating lifting and loading equipment, including forklifts
- Using ERP to make material movements, transfers, receipts, issues, and maintain accurate inventory
- Arranging materials for efficient storage and preparing necessary paperwork
- Utilizing and operating equipment to facilitate movement of items between locations
- Verifying materials to Packing slip and Certificates to process Receiving transaction in ERP
- Verify materials description, item number and unit of measurement (uom) against Purchase order
- Verifying and storing materials certificates in collaboration with Documentation team
- Supporting Accounting and Purchasing with materials receipt, return verification and/or discrepancies
- Perform daily inventory counts, ensuring all items are accounted for and reported according to established policies.
- Conduct bi-monthly inventory counts (and pre-counts) to verify accuracy and make necessary updates to the inventory records
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory records and take proactive measures to prevent inventory-related issues.
- Report and resolve inventory discrepancies with Team Leader
- Maintain a high level of competency in using technology for inventory data capture
- Communicate with the Team Leader regarding any issues
- Assemble/disassemble, adjust and organize inventory storage racks, carts, and shelving
- Follow procedures and protocols outlined in job orientation and training.
- Follow company procedures, guidelines, and standards in safety, customer service, equipment utilization, and internet usage.
- Attend staff and training meetings for ongoing updates
- Communicate with the Team Leader daily to troubleshoot challenges.
- Collaborate daily with various teams while working on projects.
- Maintain open and effective communication with various teams, including Operations, IT, Procurement, and Accounting to ensure smooth workflow
- Follow Inventory standard operating procedures
- Perform duties in a timely and effective manner, adhering to established company policies to achieve overall objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- High school education, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- State Issued Driver’s License and clean driving record preferred
- Familiarity with inventory management programs
- Must present a professional appearance
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary English language.
- Ability to move and lift heavy objects
- Capable of flexing and pivoting as priorities shift
