Computer Operator
Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Salary Range: $20–$22 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a flexible and detail-oriented Computer Operator to join our team in a small, dynamic IT environment. This role involves clerical tasks, server operations, and production of show materials. The ideal candidate is punctual, reliable, and eager to learn through on-the-job training. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential, as this position requires close collaboration with colleagues.
Computer Operator Key Responsibilities
- Train alongside the current Computer Operator to produce show materials by running server jobs and generating printed output.
- Set up printers and configure necessary settings for production tasks.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving paper (up to 40 lbs) and standing for extended periods (up to one hour).
- Burst and organize show materials, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
- Conduct spot checks on final products for errors and quality assurance.
- Make support calls to vendors for maintenance needs beyond internal capabilities.
- Process end-of-day clerical work, including credit card transactions through an online third-party system.
Computer Operator Requirements
- Proven experience in an IT environment or strong willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with IBM iSeries/IBMi operations preferred but not required for quick learners.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware/software; understanding of internet security and data privacy principles is a plus.
- Occasional overtime required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred but not mandatory if experience demonstrates capability.
