Description: Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Department: Maintenance Work Hours: 8 to 12 hours daily, 5-6 days/week Job Summary: Prepares and maintains mechanical/hydraulic components of production machines and equipment. Use hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing equipment to perform maintenance activities. . Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions. May utilize skills in metal working, welding, e1ectrical, plumbing, woodworking, etc. Qualifications: Qualified individual will present well-rounded skills in maintenance of machinery and equipment. No certification is required. Three to five years’ industrial experience preferred. Operate power tools, drive forklift. Essential Job Functions: (Constantly, Frequently, Occasionally) Physical: Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. frequently throughout work shift. Ability to stand/walk constantly throughout 10-hour work shift. Ability to bend/twist at waist, knees and neck, frequently throughout work shift. Ability to use both hands and arms simultaneously exerting push/pull force of up to 125 lbs. frequently throughout work shift. Frequent reaching/handling/grasping. Ability to climb ladders, work in confined and cramped spaces and awkward positions, frequently throughout work shift. Must not be hearing or sight impaired. Ability to use hand and power tools at job site or in shop area. Mental: Attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills. Must work independent. Must be able to read technical manufacturer specifications, blueprints and manua1s. Must be able to communicate with supervisor and other workers and record data. Work Conditions: Works in and outdoors. Hazards are numerous including: heat, cold, dust, noise, oil slippery surfaces, uneven terrain, exposure to moving equipment and machinery, electrical shock, hazardous chemicals and products, may work inside or outside and be exposed to temperature extremes and be required to work extended hours or as needed on occasion. Safety equipment required and provided. * Constantly over 80% time, Frequently 20-80% time, and Occasionally under 20% time.
