We are seeking and Experienced Utility Technician for our client in the Oklahoma City Market!
This is for a WEEKEND shift and will consist of working Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from 3am to 5:30pm. The pay will be hourly and based on experience- $25.00-$28.00
This position is safety sensitive and will require a clean background, drug screen as well as verifiable experience. The skill required are listed below-
Technical Skills
- Boiler Maintenance and Repair
- Understanding of boiler operations, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Proficiency in cleaning, inspecting, and troubleshooting boiler systems (e.g., burners, controls, pressure valves).
- Ammonia Compressor Systems
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems, including handling and operating under OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair components like compressors, evaporators, and condensers.
- HVAC Systems
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Experience with refrigerant handling and adherence to EPA regulations.
- Wastewater Treatment Systems (DAF)
- Understanding of dissolved air flotation (DAF) systems, including the treatment process and related equipment.
- Knowledge of water chemistry, pump operations, and sludge removal.
- Air Compressors
- Ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of air compressors (reciprocating, rotary screw, etc.).
- Familiarity with compressed air systems, including pressure regulation and moisture control.
Safety and Compliance
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and industry safety practices for equipment maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Certification or experience handling hazardous chemicals like ammonia.
- Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Diagnostic and Troubleshooting
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, pressure gauges, infrared thermometers, and vibration analyzers.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
- Developing and following maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Conducting regular inspections and recording findings to anticipate failures.
Electrical and Mechanical Knowledge
- Understanding of electrical systems, including motors, relays, and wiring diagrams.
- Mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of hydraulics, gear systems, and bearings.
Technical Documentation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience maintaining detailed service logs and equipment records.
Communication and Teamwork
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work in a team environment with operators, engineers, and supervisors.
8. Computer Skills
- Familiarity with maintenance management software (e.g., CMMS systems).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office for documenting and reporting maintenance activities.
Physical Requirements
- Capacity to work in physically demanding environments (e.g., tight spaces, high temperatures, or heights).
- Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment safely.
Certification and Training
- EPA 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.
- Training in ammonia safety (e.g., RETA or Ammonia Awareness programs).
- Boiler operator or technician certification (if required by the state or employer).
- First aid and CPR certification.
