Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, machinery, buildings, and facility systems. This position helps ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained work environment by performing preventative maintenance and responding promptly to repair needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Conduct inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and repair records.
- Install, assemble, and test equipment as needed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and urgent repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable codes.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required.
- Assist with facility improvements, renovations, and special projects.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or facilities environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills for work order management and recordkeeping.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Technical certification or trade school education.
- Experience with HVAC, electrical systems, welding, or industrial equipment.
- Forklift certification.
- OSHA safety training or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when necessary.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- May require overtime, weekends, or on-call availability to address emergency maintenance needs.
